Thomas Rew, an 18-year-old cricketer, has been named captain of the England Lions. This follows his first senior call-up and central contract. He will lead the side in three T20 matches against West Indies A in November. His brother is among the players in the squad. Rew previously guided England Under-19s to a World Cup final this year.

The appointment highlights the England hierarchy's confidence in Rew. He is set to become the youngest Lions captain if he leads the team in the upcoming series. The selection comes just weeks after he received a developmental deal and was included in a full squad for the first time. The Lions tour includes matches in St Kitts and Nevis.
