South Africa's bowling attack delivered a decisive performance on Day 5, dismantling Australia's lower order to secure an innings and 31-run victory. The win came after early weather disruptions and a strong first-innings display by the hosts. The visitors were forced to follow on following a poor batting performance.

Temba Bavuma's 179 and a record-breaking partnership with Simon Harmer helped South Africa post a formidable total. Marco Jansen's 5/33 in the first innings played a crucial role in setting up the victory. The result levels the three-match series 1-1, setting up a final day showdown.
