Somerset all-rounder Craig Overton aims to make England selectors' decisions difficult by maintaining his high level of play. The 32-year-old has been recognized for his county performances, earning men's player of the year honors at the Professional Cricketers' Association awards. Overton recorded 53 wickets in the County Championship, ranking third in Division One, and scored 734 runs, including three centuries. His recent form includes a strong season with Somerset, who finished second in the competition.

Overton has represented England in 15 matches, comprising eight Tests and seven one-day internationals, but has not played for his country since 2022.
