Bangladesh's head coach Phil Simmons has stated that the team's objective of participating in the ICC World Test Championship 2025/27 final is a key motivator as they prepare for the upcoming Test series against West Indies. The series begins on 28 October in Mirpur. Bangladesh currently holds a 55.56 point percentage in the WTC standings, placing them fourth. Following a series loss to Sri Lanka, the team secured a 2-0 victory over Pakistan and achieved a historic draw against Australia. With two home series and an away tour to South Africa, Bangladesh remains in contention for the final.

Simmons' comments reflect the team's focus on progressing in the WTC, with the current series against West Indies forming part of their path. The outcome of this and future matches will determine their chances of reaching the final, as the team continues to build momentum in the competition.
