Australia is poised to make at least one adjustment to their lineup for the third Test in the ICC World Test Championship series against South Africa. Matthew Renshaw is being considered as a potential opening partner for Travis Head, following Nic Maddinson's lackluster performance in four innings. Maddinson, along with backup wicketkeeper Sam Harper, has been released from the Test squad.

Steve Smith is set for a fitness assessment after reporting neck stiffness during a pre-match training session. His availability for the crucial decider remains uncertain, but the team is preparing for the possibility of his absence. The changes aim to strengthen the batting order ahead of the high-stakes encounter.
